The Leader's Commitment.
|
Student participants have found their leadership training to be a highly rewarding experience. “This is an arena for us to not just have ideas, but put them to action.”– Gracie 10’ “We can get people to engage in something they’re not used to.”–Cecelia 10’ “I've gained new perspectives and ideas from other students.” – Erik 09’ “I've had new experiences and got out of my comfort zone.” – Katy 10’ With that said, it is also a very large commitment. Before applying to become a leader, please take careful note of the high expectations below. |
Live the adventure. 1. Refuse passive living. 2. Challenge your motives, habits, and surroundings. 3. Pursue positive change.
Be willing and open to grow. We’ll take some time this semester to introduce leaders to the GO leadership philosophy.
Apply what you learn. In the following semesters after your leadership training, you will be expected to apply what you've learned.
Keep us posted. After your training, you will be equipped to lead GO CO adventure on your campus. Let us know how it goes and if you have any ideas for improvement. Send us some pictures so we can update the website.
Stay safe and obey the laws. Maintaining a safe atmosphere and following the rules is MANDATORY. Any dangerous behavior, illegal action, or incident with drugs or alcohol must be reported IMMEDIATELY to the student’s respective dean of students. We follow a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for cutting corners. Violation will result in the loss of leadership position in addition to other consequences.
Change yourself and our world by taking intentional daily actions. You can't chop down a big tree with one swing. It takes dozens of hacks. Treat each day as a single swing, each hit may seem insignificant, but don’t give up. Enough hacks repeated will make the tree come toppling down. Every positive decision our leaders make is a step closer to living the adventure in all areas of their lives. Beyond self benefits, every person our leaders inspire impacts change in our world.
